theme_park.jpgTheme Parks Try New Pricing

This summer the theme park you are hoping to go to might have increased its prices, which honestly, is expected these days, but atleast one has reduced its prices. Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio has reduced its admission price by $5 for adults, and they have reduced or maintained prices on food compared to the previous year.

Knott's Berry Farm has also reduced prices in response to the reduced attendance to their park in 2005. Another way to save a few bucks when going to a theme park is to check their websits. Most parks offer discounts to those that buy online, or atleast coupons or discounts by printing off pages from their sites. Also, going to local gas stations and grocery stores can net you a reduced rate compared to gate prices.

"Almost all of our guests have a discounted admission," said Will Koch, president of Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana. "We look at it as inexpensive advertising."

Not only can you expect discounted admission this summer at many parks, but also discounts in food and drink as different parks compete for your business. Holiday World offers free soft drinks throughout the park. They started the program a few years ago, and it as been a huge hit for them, and a great savings to park goers.

Cedar Point has reduced their food costs, including dropping cotton candy from $3 (USD) a stick to 25 cents all in hopes of drawing in a crowd.
