Travel Guide: Tijuana, Mexico
Many people go to Mexico for an economical vacation, whether that's a day-trip from San Diego to do some shopping or a longer stay to relax at a beach resort. Tijuana is the border city next to San Diego and it is the most trafficked border crossing in North America. While it is a tried and true 'border town' in its personality, there is a lot to do in Tijuana besides shop on the Avenida Revolucion. You can go on walking tours, see a bullfight or watch some Jai Alai (a personal favourite), and much more.
While visitors still flock to Tijuana, a recent rise in violence and gang activity has hurt tourism to some degree. It is important to do some planning before you go, especially know your transportation. There are border crossing buses and buses that take you throughout the city. There are also no shortage of Taxis - but be forewarned that some Taxis in Tijuana have no meters - you will have to negotiate a price.
Tijuana has a lot to offer for the budget traveler, but don't just take our word for it - watch this video guide to all things Tijuana, Mexico...
