Travel Gadget: Stop Shoulder Surfing with Privacy Filter

laptop_privacy.jpgHave you ever been on an airplane or in the airport tapping away on your laptop's keyboard when you are suddenly overcome with the inescapable feeling that the prying eyes of a stranger are watching your screen from afar? Not only are you justified being concerned about this behaviour, but a recent study suggests that over 2.4 million laptop users are at risk of this form of privacy breach and of those users 80% of them may have already been violated.

"A privacy filter is a simple yet essential security gadget that offers a greater sense of comfort for anyone using their laptop during business travel, whether working in wi-fi friendly airports, a hotel lobby, on an airplane, bus or train."
The privacy filter is a film sheet that you put over your laptop screen that darkens the information on your screen when viewed from a side angle. The film contains little microlouvers that act like window blinds to control the direction of light transmission through the film offering privacy at specific viewing angles while reducing glare in both high and low ambient light conditions.
