South Beach, Florida - Where the World Comes to Party!

south_beach_1.jpgAnyone looking for spectacular beaches with calm ocean waters can find them just about anywhere in South Beach-Miami, Florida. Not only will you experience some of the most fascinating attractions literally dotting the shoreline, you will find history, natural wonders, and a vast amount of people from all walks of life taking in the sights and soaking up the sun. A typical day at South Beach is filled with adventure seekers in glass bottom boats, and wind surfers taking advantage of the calm Miami breezes.

south_beach_2.jpgThis popular part of Florida is known for having some of the cleanest and clearest water on the east coast which is why snorkeling is a favorite and under water lovers gravitate towards the emerald green waters at South Beach. Lifeguards remain on duty throughout the day and bathrooms, along with outdoor showers are available at 14th and 10th streets.

South Beach is known for many types of styles, but its quirky art-deco style playground full of buildings that have been meticulously restored and painted in a colorful array of pastels tops the list for anyone that enjoys a piece of the past. south_beach_3.jpgThe southern end of the 10-mile-long barrier island of Miami Beach is home to the Art Deco National Historic District, the only location in the United States to be so designated. This area between 5th Street in the south and Indian Creek in the north and between Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue and Lennox Avenue is now the hottest spot to be in all of Miami and Miami Beach and has been referred to as "America's Riviera."

Once you have had your fill of the activities along the beach front, the real fun begins as the evening makes its entrance with people clamoring everywhere in search of the hottest party in South Beach. south_beach_4.jpgMiami is well known for wild evening's that has even drawn celebrities in to check out what all of the hype is all about, and no matter what your mood may be, you are bound to find a club that will draw you in like a magnet.

The hottest clubs are within walking distance of each other and the majority of them are located in the heart of the Art Deco district. Everything from gay bars to Latin, dance, and sports bars can be found, along with jazz and salsa.

south_beach_5.jpgThe Mansion, located at 1235 Washington Avenue features 2 floors with 6 bar areas and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems. This dance club is a hot spot if you want to mingle with the younger twenty to thirty something crowds, and don't be surprised if you bump into a celebrity as it is popular playground for the rich and famous or just about anyone looking for all night dancing and partying.

south_beach_6.jpgClub Deep, located at 621 Washington Avenue features Latin style dancing with a flare for tantalizing eye catching surroundings. Here you will be in the company of beautiful salsa dancers displaying their skills while dancing on water. Dancers show raw talent atop of a 2,000 gallon aquarium style dance floor that offers a spectacular light show that simply sizzles with excitement. www.clubdeep.com

One of the best places for resting your tired feet after dancing the night away is at the Villa Paladiso, located at 1415 Collins Avenue, as it is truly a paradise surrounded by a tropical garden. It is conveniently located just steps from the ocean, art galleries, clubs, and designer boutiques. south_beach_7.jpgAlso within walking distance you will find plenty of eateries from the 'da Leo Trattoria', located at 819 Lincoln Road, which features inexpensive entrée's like beef Carpaccio and bowls of noodles. Another favorite is Joe's Stone Crab Restaurant, located at 11 Washington Avenue, with offerings of the finest stone crab in Florida. The lines tend to be long at Joe's due to the quality and quantity of the entrees, but it is well worth the wait. www.joesstonecrab.com

super_bowl.jpgThe world will indeed come to South Beach to party in less than a month as professional sport's biggest game and spectacle, the Super Bowl is coming to Miami on Sunday, February 4th, 2007. Here is a directional map of Joe Robbie Stadium, where the game will be played. The stadium is approximately a 20-minute drive from South Beach (17 miles) and many visitors for the Super Bowl will almost assuredly choose South Beach as their home and party base for the big sports weekend.
