Travelling long distances on an airplane has always been annoying for travellers that are used to being connected to the world, via their cell phone or their computers, but now JetBlue Airways Corp. has won a wireless license which will allow them to offer high-speed Internet access and other communication services on their planes.

While Verizon Communications has not done well with their Airfone service, it is mainly because of the high cost for what is considered such a basic service. However, business travellers are more accustomed to paying fees to access the Internet and there has been great interest.

I think this is a great move by JetBlue, and I wish that Internet access during travelling was so pervasive that you did not have to ask the question "will I be able to get online where I am going?"
