Headed to Europe next spring? Get bonus rail travel now
By Dana McMahan
If the recent drop in the euro (finally!) has spurred your interest in heading across the pond next spring, be sure to take advantage of Eurail's Early Bird promotion. They have some great deals right now -- book by November 31st or miss out.
Buy a 15-day Eurail Global Pass and receive 21 days of travel. Pay for 21 days and get a month. The Global Pass is the most popular rail pass. Covering 20 countries now (with Czech coming on in January), this pass lets you travel as much as you like over a fixed time period. Prices for adults start at 503 euros.
If you're taking a limited number of trips within a smaller part of Europe, try the the Select Pass. Pick three adjoining countries, and pay for six travel days within two months, and get eight days. Pay for eight and get 10. Adult prices start at 352 euros.
Here's the small print:
These passes can ONLY be used for travel in the period from March 1st 2009 up to May 31st 2009.
The Promo Pass must be validated between March 1st and May 24st 2009 and within 6 months after purchase.
