For those of you out there who anxiously await the release of Rick Steves' new season, your waiting is almost over. 13 new episodes of "Rick Steves' Europe" begin this month on public television.

This year the travel guru will take viewers to Burgundy and the Dordogne River Valley; to Barcelona and Catalunya; to the five teeniest countries in Europe (Vatican City, Monaco, San Marino, Liechtenstein and Andorra); to Switzerland; to Vienna; to the Czech Republic beyond Prague; to Athen and side trips; to Greece's Peloponnese; to Copenhagen and Denmark beyond Copenhagen; and to Istanbul.

In addition to the European classics, Rick filmed a special hour-long episode -- "Iran, Yesterday and Today".

Rick Steves has filmed more than 100 episodes on location in Europe, offering travelers a look at real travel on realistic budgets. If you're just now tuning into Rick, you may want to check out some of his back episodes. His travel store has a sale right now on DVDs. The discs contain 5 to 8 half-hour shows each and while they last are $4.95. If you just can't get enough, Rick's blog offers a candid behind-the-scenes look at his travel experience.
